Don joined the Salt Grass Trail Ride in 1964 with his uncle “Pistol”. He was elected to the executive committee in 1990 and served as Wagon Boss, Utility Boss, and Assistant Trail Boss before being elected Trail Boss for the years 1994-96. The Hildebrandt family — Don's wife, Lanette, their daughter, Amanda, and grandson, Kaden, enjoy making the ride each year. Don is a Life Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ and drives his wagon in the Rodeo's Grand Entry. Don is employed by Allstate Insurance Co.
