LIVESTOCK BOSS

The livestock Boss has the duty of overseeing the well being of all the horses and mules on the entire trail ride.

Charlie Morgan
Charlie serves as Scout and as Chief of Scouts for many years on the Salt Grass Trail Ride before being elected Livestock Boss. As a result, he is a Lifetime Scout of the Salt Grass Trail. Charlie's son Mitch now carries on the tradition, being appointed Chief of Scouts in 2006. Charlie and his father, Floyd Morgan, foubded wagon 20, "Double M Trail Riders", in 1975. Charlie spent 50-odd years in the oilfield and several years boarding horses before he and his wife, Alice, retired. Charlie and Alice's children, Mitch and Toni, seven grandchildren and six great grand children also ride the Salt Grass Trail.
